An ordinary calendar wants a title and a time. An activity in Moi Calendar carries a picture, a voice, a title and a few words — everything the person needs to know what is coming.
A picture that means something
Take a photo of the real place with the camera, or pick one you already have. Tap the card and the picture fills the screen, which is often all someone needs. A short video works the same way: the walk to school, filmed once, played every morning. And if there is no photo yet, draw it — the canvas has colours and pen widths, and a drawing sits on the card like any photo.
A voice that belongs to someone
Record up to thirty seconds on any activity: grandmother saying she is expecting you on Saturday, a teacher naming the classroom. Tap the card and the voice plays. Where there is no recording, Moi Calendar can read the title and description aloud in the device's own voice. Nothing plays by itself.
Words, for whoever reads them
Every activity can carry a title and a longer description — for the adult who keeps the calendar, and for the person who is learning to read it. A title on its own is enough when the picture says the rest.
Several activities tell the plan
One activity says what will happen. A few of them in order say what the day is: breakfast, swimming, the party, bedtime. The cards are in time order, so reading down the day is reading the plan.
The people who work with visual supports prefer the concrete end of the scale: a photo of the real place over a drawing of any place, and a familiar voice over a written instruction. That is why Moi Calendar ships no symbol library and asks for your own pictures instead.

Can I use picture symbols, like the ones from school?
Moi Calendar does not ship a symbol library. You can take a photo of the card the school uses, so the same picture travels home, or draw the symbol yourself. The people who study visual supports prefer the concrete end anyway: a photo of the real place over a drawing of any place.
How long can a video or a voice recording be?
A video filmed in the app is up to thirty seconds; one from your gallery up to three minutes. A voice recording is up to thirty seconds. Long enough for a grandmother, short enough to tap through a whole day.
Where are my photos stored?
On your device. Moi Calendar is free and works offline; nothing is uploaded anywhere. If you want the photos in your phone's own gallery as well, there is a setting for that.
